Paasikivi- panel

J.E.T.A group took part in a panel held in the auditorium of a campus building, owned by Turku University. The panel was orchestrated by a representative of Turun Sanomat, who was also in charge of presenting questions to the panelists.  As far as the politicians taking part in the panel go, the room was filled with top tier politicians of their parties, as far as Turku goes. Big names included Li Andersson, Ilkka Kanerva, Ilkka Kantola and Ville Tavio, just to name a few of the most famous ones. The questions given for the panelists revolved around immigration, economy and overall ways to improve Finland as a country.  For the group members, the ability to spectate top tier politicians engaging in political debates, was a treat for sure, even if the knowledge about politics with the group members wasn't as high tier as the panelists. Nevertheless, it was an interesting experience, one that gave more insight as to how political debates are carried out. Jussi Häyri...

What did we learn about the EU?

What did we learn about EU? And creating activities to others? We learned all sorts of things about the EU, such as when it was formed, about Brexit stuff etc. Although most of the stuff was something we knew prior to the EU day, it still gave some insight for the subject. We learned about teamwork and how to lead a lesson and a group. It was enjoyable.

That it is a big deal is most certainly clear to everyone. The name “Brexit” comes from Britain and exiting EU, so Brexit. A vote where almost everyone was able to vote, the majority was by 51% for leaving the EU. As a matter of fact, it is still not possible to define rather will Brexit happen or not. As we compared the article of Forbes and Quora, on why is Brexit a big deal. We found some differences. Both articles explain the economic reasons, that the currency weakens and that an exit from the EU could lead to UK recession. Investment plans would be either cancelled or postponed. As one article is talking about how the British business will more than ever look beyond Europe for costumers. The trade links along Britain ...
